Choosing the right payment method for your online shop

Every payment method has two costs: the fee you pay and the customers you lose without it. The second is usually larger.

Cards are the baseline for international customers. Digital wallets win on mobile and dominate in many regions. Bank transfer and over-the-counter still matter where card penetration is low.

Buy-now-pay-later lifts average order value on higher-ticket items, but it makes little difference below a certain price point.

Start with cards plus the one or two wallets your customers already use, then add options as you see where checkout drops off.
